Not every order needs to be boxed. A smaller on-call room or department meeting can run on a Family Tray ($159.99, feeds 4–7). Bigger department lunches and appreciation events scale up using the current package sizes on our catering hub. Trays work well for a nursing unit’s appreciation lunch or a multi-department gathering where people can serve themselves between patients.

How much does hospital catering cost in San Diego?

Our order minimum is $150. From there, boxed lunches are $21–$28 per person with a 15-box minimum, so a boxed order typically lands between roughly $315 and $420 before delivery. Shared-spread headcounts and current prices are kept on the packages section of our catering hub. Delivery is free within 5 miles of our Ocean Beach kitchen, $30 for 5–15 miles, $50 for 16–40 miles, and $60 beyond that — pickup at 4884 Newport Ave is free. Net-30 invoicing is available for hospital departments with an established account.

Lead time is about 24 hours for orders under $500 and about 48 hours for larger orders — we can’t guarantee same-day service, so don’t count on it for a same-morning request. If you’re planning a bigger, staffed event — servers, setup, on-site carving for 50 or more guests — plan on about 5 days’ notice; staffed service is quoted per event with your order. Tell us where on campus to deliver (a specific dock, suite, or nursing station) and we’ll coordinate drop-off around your building’s access rules.

Large medical campuses often mean a security desk, a loading dock, or an elevator bank you have to plan around — tell us in the notes field of the quote form and we’ll build the extra time into the delivery window instead of guessing at it. We deliver from our Ocean Beach kitchen out to campuses across the county, not just the closest neighborhoods, so a department in Kearny Mesa or a clinic near UCSD/La Jolla is covered the same way a unit closer to Ocean Beach would be — the fee just scales with distance.
