Booking and timing
How much advance notice do you need for catering?
About 24 hours for a standard drop-off order under $500, and about 48 hours for orders over $500. Staffed, full-service events of 50 or more guests need five or more days.
Can you handle last-minute or same-day catering?
Sometimes. If your event is inside that window, call (619) 642-0298 and we’ll tell you what’s possible for your date.
What’s the minimum order size for catering?
Bundles start at 15 people. À la carte trays have no minimum — a single half tray feeds about 10.
Can I order your catering through ezCater?
Yes — Shawarma House is on ezCater for corporate ordering. Booking direct through our quote form is the fastest and lowest-cost way to order.
What catering costs
How much does Mediterranean catering cost per person in San Diego?
Our bundles run $19.99 to $26.60 per person: Small Spread feeds 15 for $399, Office Spread feeds 25 for $599, Full Spread feeds 50 for $1,199, Banquet Spread feeds 75 for $1,649, and Grand Spread feeds 100 for $1,999.
What’s included in a catering bundle?
Beef and chicken shawarma, saffron basmati rice, fresh salad, hummus, hand-formed falafel, pita, and house sauces. Full Spread and up add cream chop.
Do you cater weddings and events larger than 100 guests?
Yes — we cater 125, 150, and 200-guest events and build custom spreads for any headcount. Tell us your date and guest count in the quote form and we’ll price it out.
How do I pay?
Credit card or ACH, and Net-30 invoicing for established corporate clients.
Getting the food to you
Do you deliver throughout San Diego?
Yes — Point Loma, La Jolla, Pacific Beach, Downtown, and across San Diego County. Delivery is free within 5 miles, $30 for 5 to 15 miles, $50 for 16 to 40 miles, and $60 beyond that. Pickup at 4884 Newport Ave in Ocean Beach is always free.
Do you provide setup and serving staff?
Buffet and plate orders are drop-off — we set up the food and you take it from there. Full-service staffed catering is available for events of 50 or more guests — quoted per event.
Do you provide utensils, plates, and napkins?
Yes — disposable serving ware is included with every catering order, with a compostable upgrade on request.
Halal, vegan, and gluten-free
Are your meats halal?
Yes — every protein we serve is 100% halal, and has been since day one.
Do you have vegan options for catering?
Yes — a full vegan menu including vegan shawarma, vegan cream chop, falafel, hummus, and salads. Any bundle can be built fully plant-based.
Can you accommodate gluten-free or other dietary restrictions?
Yes — most of our salads, proteins, and rice are naturally gluten-free, and we can swap pita for rice. Flag any restriction in your inquiry and we’ll customize the order.
